Job Description

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • WSET Level 2, Cape Wine Academy qualification or equivalent wine qualification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Wine Steward, Sommelier or senior Food & Beverage professional within a 4 or 5-star hotel or upscale restaurant
  • Strong knowledge of South African and international wines, spirits and beverage trends
  • Experience with wine service, cellar management and stock control
  • Excellent food and wine pairing knowledge
  • Strong communication and upselling skills
  • Well-presented with a professional and guest-focused approach
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Valid South African ID or valid work permit

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional wine service to guests in accordance with luxury hospitality standards
  • Recommend wines and beverage pairings to complement menu selections
