Job Description
PURPOSE
The Welding Quality Assistant is responsible for the leg work of weld quality assurance and compliance, destructive and non‑destructive test, and welder qualifications ensuring conformance of production to applicable procedures, industry codes and standards.
He/She is also responsible for providing support in establishing and improving weld inspection process and controls to achieve and continuously improve quality of constructed vessels.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Graduate of Engineering course or equivalent
- Minimum of 1‑2 years’ experience in quality control, inspection, auditing and testing in a shipbuilding or similar industries
- Highly conversant on shipbuilding processes and operations, preferably Aluminium shipbuilding
- Experienced in Class Survey and statutory requirements for new shipbuilding
