Sonographer
The Sonographer performs ultrasound procedures per physicians' orders and produces images according to Radiology Department policies and procedures. The sonographer routinely demonstrates a strong commitment to the facilities behavioral standards by serving as a role model to others.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately evaluates requests for ultrasound procedures.
- Obtains patient history and symptoms.
- Performs ultrasound procedures per physicians' orders in accordance with Radiology Department policies and procedures.
- Provides care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served.
- Provides explanation and instruction to patients regarding ultrasound procedures.
Qualifications:
Current registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in Abdomen and OB/GYN. BLS Certified. CPR certified.
