Job Description
Summary The Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS) maintains regional field office locations across the nation. Each field office is managed by a Supervisory Air Marshal in Charge (SAC) who provides overall supervision for Federal Air Marshals (FAMs) deployed on domestic and international flights and serving in ground-based assignments. FAMS field office SACs maintain robust working relationships within their respective districts, including Federal, State and local law enforcement counterparts. Responsibilities This is a secondary law enforcement position. Under the authority of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act (ATSA) (PL 107-71, November 19, 2001), the incumbent functions as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer and performs the duties and responsibilities assigned to FAMs. The position serves as a Supervisory Air Marshal in Charge (SAC) of the Boston Field Office.
