Supervisory Air Traffic Control Specialist (Operations Supervisor)

Summary If you are not FSS facility rated, you must attend, complete and pass the Alaska Flight Service Training Academy. Responsibilities Directs the work of subordinate employees at the organizational unit level providing first-line supervision to a team of FSS Air Traffic Control Specialists (ATCS). Work usually includes routine project/program tasks based on established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Managerial duties affect employees in one organizational unit, and include planning, assigning, setting priorities, tasks, and schedules; monitoring and evaluating performance; coaching and developing employee capabilities; and taking or recommending corrective/disciplinary action, as appropriate. Responsible for planning and directing operations within delegated areas of responsibility, some of which may be remotely located and require travel.
