Strategic Chair, Mental Health & Lived-Experience Board

Kites Trust is an incorporated charitable trust with 25-year experience working with Tangata Whai ora (people seeking wellbeing) in the mental health peer support space.

We exist to empower Tangata Whai ora to lead their own journeys with freedom, dignity, and self-determination, centering the voices and experiences of people with lived experience of mental distress and/or addiction.

We currently hold several government contracts for the delivery of peer support services in clinical and emergency settings, including a pilot for the delivery of peer support services in a hospital emergency department setting, and are leaders in the peer support community of practice in the Wellington region.

In the past 3 years we have transitioned from a wholly volunteer to a professional organisation with a paid executive.

We are now moving into a growth phase and require a chair who can provide strategic governance as the organization matures.
