Staff Engineer, Mechanical Design (18-month contract)

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation solutions for new automated production equipment, including customized fixtures and tooling.
• Develop equipment specifications and deploy automated equipment aligned to the site’s automation roadmap (mechanization, data automation, and digital shop‑floor tools).
• Monitor existing automated processes and implement improvements to increase capacity, reduce scrap/reject rates, and enhance line safety using data‑driven methods.
• Execute equipment and process validations and document results through technical protocols and formal reports.
• Perform failure analyses on automated production equipment (e.g., fault tree analysis, failure mode and effects analysis) and drive corrective actions to restore and improve performance.
• Create and maintain operating procedures, standard work, and visual work instructions for automated equipment and process changes.
