Specialist Unix Administrator (Solaris & AIX) l PNG

This is a dual-platform role for a Specialist Unix Administrator responsible for the autonomous administration and operation of both IBM AIX (on IBM Power) and Oracle Solaris (SPARC / x86) environments. The administrator owns systems and complex processes, resolves advanced OS- and application-level issues, and mentors junior administrators.

Responsibilities

At this level the administrator performs the following autonomously, with own responsibility for systems and complex processes:

• Troubleshooting, problem investigation, monitoring, and performance analysis and optimization across the AIX and Solaris estates.
• Disaster‑recovery and security‑management planning.
• Plan and deploy AIX and Solaris application servers in production based on the defined processes; actively maintain and update productive systems.
