Position Summary
The Sourcing Specialist works to achieve a competitive advantage for Parker by establishing contractual material supply agreements, and developing and maintaining a broad base of world class suppliers that will ensure a consistent supply of high quality, cost competitive materials and services.
Responsibilities
- Continuously search, on a global basis, for new suppliers who can provide better materials, technologies, quality, and/or costs.
- Continuously explore areas of opportunity and investigate better ways of working with current suppliers so that overall costs of acquisition are minimized.
- Negotiate material supply contracts with suppliers and establish blanket orders, utilizing consignment agreements, vendor stocking programs and kanban contracts where applicable.
- Work closely with other purchasing staff to ensure that suppliers are cooperative and continually meeting their obligations.
