Job Description

As a Solicitor Advocate, you'll be on the front line of criminal justice, appearing daily in the Magistrates' and Children's Courts. We're seeking a solicitor with demonstrated experience in advocacy and a proactive approach to their work.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Appearing in Magistrates' and Children's Court matters, including filing hearings, committal mentions/committal case conferences, bail applications, summary jurisdiction and other miscellaneous applications, and occasionally contested committals and County Court pleas and appeals. You will also receive appropriate training to appear in the County Court DATC and County Koori Court as required.
* Proactively engaging with other solicitors, Crown Prosecutors, defence practitioners, and police to seek early resolution of cases.
* Communicating sensitively with victims and witnesses, ensuring they feel informed and supported throughout the prosecution process.
