**Overview**
Join Microsoft Advertising's Billing Platform team and help power one of the company's most business-critical systems. Our platform manages the end-to-end financial lifecycle for advertisers, including revenue recognition, invoicing, payments, tax compliance, budget control, financial reporting, and large-scale billing operations across global markets.
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for a distributed, mission-critical platform that processes billions of dollars in advertiser spend. You will drive architecture modernization, platform reliability, AI-powered operational excellence, and new monetization capabilities while partnering across Finance, CRM, Measurement, Payments, and Marketplace teams.
