Software Development Engineer, AWS Transactional Services

Job Overview

The Transactional Services team builds foundational distributed systems powering many large AWS services. We own a high-performance, highly available replicated log service used as a commit log and for streaming data.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate highly available and scalable control plane services that manage the lifecycle, placement, and metadata of one of AWS's largest distributed systems — handling hundreds of millions of operations per second.
• Improve service quality, operational excellence, and reliability by building monitoring, automation, and operational tooling that prevents customer impact.
• Provide input to project plans and delivery commitments and develop quality features in line with those commitments.
• Work with a talented team, sharing knowledge through code reviews and design reviews.
• Mentor other engineers.
