Position Purpose
Under minimal direction from supervisory staff, performs a wide variety of often strenuous physical tasks associated with the maintenance of campus grounds using appropriate methods and techniques. Grounds-related tasks required of individuals in this position description are focused on the maintenance of shrubs and planted beds, but also include but are not limited to operation and maintenance of irrigation systems, assistance with tree work, and snow and ice removal. Also performs labor-related activities associated with the movement of furniture, equipment and supplies to various locations on the Dartmouth campus as well as providing support for set-up and take-down of events on campus throughout the year. Will be responsible for leading and directing small work parties associated with grounds maintenance.
