We currently have positions open in Charleston, SC at their shop environment and the Shipyard in Newport News
both are $45 hr with per diem (140!)
Job Description
- Perform multi-pass tack welding using the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process.
- Operate burning and heating equipment, specifically oxygen/propane burning torches.
- Interpret complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches, including weld symbols, material types, datum, and reference lines.
- Comprehend fractional dimensions using a ruler and lay off piece parts for fabrication and assembly.
- Assemble structural piece parts according to specifications with high-quality standards.
- Work effectively in physically demanding environments such as shipbuilding or steel fabrication.
