Job Description
Lead purchasing initiatives at Linamar as a Senior Purchasing Agent with a focus on Machining and Casting commodities. Strive for excellence in cost management and supplier relationships.
The Senior Purchasing Agent will report directly to the Purchasing Supervisor, responsible for optimizing purchasing strategies in machining and casting sectors. You will negotiate contract terms, ensure on-time delivery, and implement cost-effective solutions that contribute to both Current Production and New Product Development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts effectively
• Analyze variable purchasing options for cost efficiency
• Evaluate supplier service quality and product viability
• Maintain continual tracking of commodity prices and market fluctuations
• Generate and distribute performance reports and databases
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline
• At least 5+ years of experience in a purchasing role
