Senior IT Engineer - Servers - ARB18204

Overview

Argyll and Bute Council is seeking to recruit a full-time Senior IT Engineer to join our IT Server Team based in Lochgilphead. This role involves the design, installation and ongoing support of server infrastructure across the Council's estate, with environments including Microsoft and Linux servers hosted across two datacentres and a mix of physical and virtual machines. The successful candidate will provide second- and third-line operational assistance and ensure timely resolution of service requests, incidents and complex technical issues.

The role operates on a hybrid basis with a significant proportion of remote working; however, regular in-person attendance in Lochgilphead is essential to support effective service delivery. Travel to various Council offices and schools will also be required as service needs arise, therefore access to a vehicle or pool car is necessary.
