Responsible for the safety and well-being of patients, visitors, staff, facilities and hospital property
Responsibilities
* Patrols all areas of their assigned facility looking for illegal/inappropriate activity and security/safety concerns. Proactively provides information, assistance and guidance to patients, visitors, and staff.
* Conducts internal and external rounds/patrols to ensure the safety and security of the facility, property, and occupants.
* Responds to, and investigates security incidents. Ensures all incidents and activities are appropriately documented and recorded.
* Assists nursing units, clinical care areas, and other departments with uncooperative, combative or violent patients and visitors. Effectively de-escalates situations and uses the appropriate AVADE techniques.
* Provides patient watch activities to mitigate injury to self/others.
