Job Description
A Safety Officer ensures a safe work environment by developing, implementing, and enforcing occupational health and safety (OHS) policies. Key responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, inspecting workplaces for hazards, investigating incidents/accidents, ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA), delivering safety training, and managing personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Compliance & Regulation: Ensuring the workplace adheres to local, state, and federal safety regulations, such as those mandated by OSHA.
- Risk Assessment & Management: Identifying potential hazards, evaluating risks, and implementing preventative measures to eliminate or minimize dangers.
- Inspections & Audits: Conducting regular site inspections and audits of equipment, machinery, and tools to identify unsafe conditions.
