Overview

The Registered Nurse– Functions as a member of the surgical team to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures.  Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care, in coordination with other health care team members, according to the patient care delivery model of the center.  The patients to be served include infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.  The Registered Nurse possesses advanced knowledge and clinical skills in pre-procedure preparations, airway management, cardiac arrhythmias, invasive lines, regional blocks, and anesthetic medications to effectively meet the needs of the patient preparing for or recovering from anesthesia.  The Registered Nurse also possesses knowledge of care for the patient intra-operatively and providing a report of intra-operative care to the nurse who will be caring for the patient post-operative.  The Registered Nurse ma...
