Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care. The role includes evaluating patient outcomes, consulting with specialists, and adjusting nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care and flow through the Emergency Room. The nurse will meet the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of patient care, while effectively communicating with patients and their families. Critical communication with ED physicians regarding patient status and diagnostic study results is essential. The nurse must be capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response.
