The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and hosts entities such as EuroHPC JU. BSC researches, develops and manages information technologies for scientific progress. Context & Mission
The BSC hosts the Barcelona Dust Regional Center, providing forecasts of mineral dusts over Northern Africa, Middle East and Europe with state‑of‑the‑art numerical models. The Atmospheric Chemistry group (AC) also develops and maintains the MONARCH forecast model, a coupled meteorological‑chemical model that simulates gaseous chemistry, aerosols and their radiative feedbacks.
