Job Description
The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) caters to a specialized population that includes trauma patients, cardiovascular surgery patients such as those recovering from TAVRs and CABGs directly from the operating room, neurosurgery patients, and other complex surgical cases.
Responsibilities
+ Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and arterial lines.
+ Administer blood products and manage acute ventilator needs.
+ Care for COVID+ patients with high oxygen demands, patients with DKA, severe sepsis, and unstable GI bleeds.
+ Handle trauma cases, open heart recovery, and post-code blue situations.
+ Manage patients with multi-system organ failure and those needing CRRT.
+ Float within scope to meet facility needs.
+ Work every other weekend as required.
