Public Safety Animal Control Lead & Shelter Coordinator

Benzie County is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a full-time Animal Control Officer. The role enforces state laws and local ordinances, responds to animal-related complaints, and patrols the county to impound stray animals.

The Officer oversees shelter operations, collaborates with staff and volunteers, and may work evenings, weekends, and on-call hours. Minimum qualifications include an associate’s degree and MDARD certification (or ability to complete training within 6–8 months).
