Support Nova Scotia’s infrastructure as a Project Engineer with the Department of Public Works. Join a team transforming highways and bridges with your engineering expertise in both outdoor and office settings.
This role oversees all phases of bridge and highway construction under the supervision of the Construction Manager. As a Project Engineer, you will engage in pre-engineering work, conduct surveys, and manage contract administration while ensuring safety and environmental standards. Your ability to communicate effectively with contractors, agencies, and the public will be vital in maintaining strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities: • Manage projects and supervise staff on-site and in the office • Conduct pre-engineering assessments and surveys • Prepare timely cost estimates for project phases • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations • Maintain public relations with stakeholders during construction
