Responsibilities

• Within assigned authority, the Programme Officer (Terrorism Prevention) will be responsible for the following specific duties/tasks:
  • As focal point for terrorism prevention in Latin America:
  • Provide expertise in the fields of terrorism prevention and criminal justice with respect to regional and national terrorism prevention in Latin America and the Caribbean; identify problems and issues to be addressed and initiate corrective actions.
  • Support coordination and implementation of regional and national terrorism prevention activities in the LAC region, as required.
  • Support the provision of technical assistance to Member States and participate in international, regional or national meetings, and provide substantive expertise on Counter Terrorism issues.
