Job Description
Join the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as a Programme Management Officer focusing on Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs). This role emphasizes strategic partnerships, project management, and effective outreach.
As a key member of the Secretariat of the CBD in Montreal, Canada, you will support implementing Article 8(j) by managing meetings, partnerships, and outreach initiatives. You’ll engage with diverse stakeholders to promote traditional knowledge and build partnerships that enhance the Convention's goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and service meetings for the Conference of the Parties
• Manage partnership initiatives and related events
• Produce and disseminate programme-related publications
• Provide technical advice on mainstreaming relevant articles
• Support fundraising for the Voluntary Fund for IPLCs
