Principal Inbound Maritime Projects (Santiago)

Reporting to the Lead Principal Inbound Maritime Minerals America, this role enables the inbound maritime team to operate in a well governed, yet efficient manner, and to provide supply chain expertise in the international inbound freight to our business, optimising the freight choices when procuring goods to deliver bottom line cost savings focusing on the risk lens.

Responsibilities

• Working alongside Procurement (OPEX and CAPEX) to provide detailed inbound supply chain expertise advising on freight cost choices in the procurement of goods internationally.
• Gaining support for and negotiating outcomes that achieve mutually beneficial goals.
• Supporting the management of vendor/customer selection, contracts, and performance to maximise operational and financial outcomes and mitigate BHP’s exposure to risk.
• Planning, tracking the delivery of and manages a project to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes.
