The responsibility of the Environmental Control Officer is to provide assurance, advice, assistance and support to the Rand Water Project Manager in the management of the environmental issues on the project which includes ensuring compliance to the Environmental Authorizations (EA), Licenses and the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) with specific emphases on water courses. Ensuring that continuous monitoring and auditing of projects is conducted throughout the lifecycle of the projects against the authorization, licenses and EMP.

Primary Duties

• Compliance enforcement – through intensive environmental monitoring programme. Assisting in ensuring necessary environmental authorization and permits are maintained. Monitoring and verifying that the Environmental Management Programme (EMPr)/licence/authorisation is adhered to and taking action for any compliance.
