Phlebotomist

Job Highlights:

This is a travel at home/fill in Phlebotomist position for St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. Shifts are available for days, evenings, nights, weekends and weekends but primary needs are late mornings to evenings during the week.

Job Summary:

Under specific direction, collects and prepares blood specimens and other samples for laboratory testing. Maintains collection areas and equipment and performs record keeping duties.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Collects blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary technique and processes the samples according to laboratory guidelines.

Delivers samples to the laboratory in established time frames.

May perform waived testing.

May perform a variety of administrative duties to support the department.

Identifies patients using two identifiers.

Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
