The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing a variety of duties including specimen collection, processing, and workflow support. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to troubleshoot issues, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Perform blood collection procedures including venipuncture and capillary draws
+ Process, label, centrifuge, and prepare specimens for transport
+ Package and ship specimens according to established protocols
+ Restock supplies and maintain a clean, organized work area
+ Disinfect workstations and equipment between patients
+ Perform daily checks (e.g., logbooks, specimen storage, refrigerator checks)
+ Ensure no specimens are left behind and are stored appropriately
+ Accurately update patient information and maintain records
