A Band 4 Rotational Pharmacy Technicianis a career-level role within the TRFT that develops broad, hands‑on clinical and technical expertise through rotations across a variety of departments, including Dispensary, Aseptic Services, Electronic Prescribing, Medicines Administration (EPMA) and Wards. In dispensary services, the role involves dispensing To Take Out (TTO) and inpatient prescriptions, managing stock control, and handling Controlled Drugs (CDs). Ward‑based duties include carrying out ward stock top‑ups, assessing patients’ own medications, and supporting the discharge process through TTO prescriptions. Within aseptic services, technicians assist with the preparation of sterile products, chemotherapy treatments, and Central Intravenous Additive Service (CIVAS). Key responsibilities also include performing final accuracy checks on dispensed medicines, providing straightforward patient counselling on the safe use of medicines, and supervising.
