Skills

As a lecturer in Architectural Technology, you are responsible for imparting your knowledge to students, designing course content, and evaluating learning. Among the skills and concepts taught are:

• Architectural design and project development;
• Technical drawing and graphic representation (2D and 3D);
• Specialized software: AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe suite (Photoshop, InDesign);
• Building Information Modeling (BIM) and emerging digital tools;
• Construction systems: wood, steel, concrete and masonry;
• Materials, building envelope and building mechanics;
• Quebec Construction Code, Building Standards, Laws and Regulations;
• Cost estimation, project management and site supervision;
• Renovation, rehabilitation and survey of buildings;
• Sustainable development, energy efficiency and sustainable building.
