Ophthalmology Chief Physician

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a chief physician for the ophthalmology unit at Sairaala Nova in Jyväskylä. This fixed‑term position runs from 10 August 2026 to 10 February 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care for eye patients and lead ophthalmology clinical services.
• Oversee, mentor and coordinate ophthalmologists, optometrists and allied staff.
• Develop and implement specialized healthcare and operational models within the unit.
• Collaborate with specialists across the service area and drive continuous improvement.
• Report to senior hospital leadership and contribute to administrative and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Specialist certification in ophthalmology.
• Familiarity with the Jyväskylä service area.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably within a hospital setting.
