Ophthalmic Clinic Assistant

The Ophthalmic Clinic Assistant supports ophthalmologists, optometrist and nursing staff in delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality eye care services. The role involves assisting in clinic consultations, conducting visual acuity tests, preparing patient for minor procedures and ensuring smooth clinic operations.

Patient Care & Clinical Support

• Participate and ensure all patients are given safe and high-quality patient care
• Assist the doctor in the clinic during examination of patients and to coordinate and to carry to doctor’s instructions.
• Ensure proper patient positioning and comfort during examinations.
• Perform basic ophthalmic assessment visual acuity and eye dressing.
• Assist in the Eye Investigation to perform diagnostic test when the need arises (if trained).
• To be able to identify priority cases and inform the clinic doctor.
