Unit Summary
The Cardiac and Vascular Program services the needs of inpatients and outpatients with cardiac disorders (valvular, electrophysiological, adult congenital and coronary artery) as well as patients with vascular disease. The program provides advanced cardiac care services including such procedures as cardiac catheterization, cardiac angioplasty, cardiac surgery and electrophysiological procedures.
Position Summary
The Advanced Practice Nurse will apply specialized knowledge, skills and responsibilities in providing and advancing quality care for the cardiology population. The Advanced Practice Nurse uses an advanced cardiovascular knowledge base, physical assessment skills, diagnostic interventions and a holistic perspective to participate in the plan of care for the cardiology patient, in collaboration with the patient, the family, physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
