The position independently coordinates and executes scientific studies involving animal procedures, biological sample collection and processing, data collection and analysis, laboratory operations, inventory management, and laboratory equipment support. The incumbent performs virology laboratory techniques including basic cell culture, plaque assays, and plaque reduction neutralization testing while supporting animal studies conducted in BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 laboratory environments.
