Join APSEA as a Full Time Educational Interpreter in Middleton, Nova Scotia, providing essential support in communication and education with ASL and English. Start in August 2026!
In this term role until June 2027, you'll offer valuable interpretation services that promote accessibility for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals in a learning environment. Work collaboratively with educational staff to ensure inclusive educational experiences for every student, while supporting diverse cultural perspectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide accurate ASL and English interpretation
• Guide students in understanding classroom material
• Serve as a cultural intermediary in communication
• Partner with educational teams for student success
Requirements:
• Graduation from a certified Interpreter Training Program
• Minimum three years of community or educational interpreting
• Certified with CASLI or RID as an asset
