Medical Supply Technician - Sterile Processing

Summary The Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing) position is located at the John Cochran Division, VA St. Louis Health Care System, St. Louis, MO. The incumbent will process a full range of Reusable Medical Devices (RMD) from simple surgical grade stainless steel to extremely complex devices that require knowledge of its identification, labeling, use, function, troubleshooting, testing, maintenance, and selection of accurate reprocessing methods (titanium, robotics, microsurgical, etc). Responsibilities The Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing) will be responsible for reprocessing of RMD in support of all clinical services provided within the two divisions, both in the surgical suites and outpatient areas. Care and attention to detail are critical. The MST must demonstrate a knowledge of surgical instruments used in the operating room and procedural settings.
