Job Description
BayCare is seeking an experienced **Specialty Coder III** to perform advanced outpatient coding for short-stay encounters. In this role, you will review medical records and accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding systems. You will serve as a coding subject matter expert, collaborating with clinical and operational teams to resolve documentation questions, improve coding accuracy, and support revenue cycle integrity.
This position also plays an important mentoring role by assisting with the training and development of Coder I and Coder II team members, as well as clinical practice students. The ideal candidate has extensive outpatient coding experience, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines.
