Position: Medical Coder - Inpatient DRG (IPDRG)

Work setup & shift: Onsite | Day shift

Sign-on bonus: 120,000*

The Medical Coder-Inpatient DRG (IPDRG) provides high-level technical competency and subject matter expertise in analyzing physician/provider documentation in inpatient health records to determine diagnoses, procedures, and related indicators for accurate reimbursement.

Responsibilities

Documentation Review and Code Assignment

• Assign appropriate code(s) using guidelines: CDC, ICD-CM, CMS, AHA, AHIMA, Revenue Excellence/HM.
• Navigate patient records and systems to determine diagnosis and procedure codes, MS-DRGs, APR DRGs, HACs and PSIs.
• Utilize encoder software and online tools to assign ICD codes, MS-DRG, APR DRG, POA, SOI & ROM indicators.
• Review documentation to support code assignments and reduce denials.
