Mechanical Fitter
Location: Portsmouth
Pay Rate: £15.61 per hour
Contract Type: Ongoing Contract
The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join a busy manufacturing and engineering team on a contract basis. This is a hands-on role involving the assembly of large mechanical components and equipment, working from technical drawings and following established manufacturing procedures.
The position would suit an experienced Mechanical Fitter with strong mechanical assembly skills who enjoys a varied and physically active working environment.
Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Fitter:
Mechanical assembly of components and sub-assemblies using hand and pneumatic tools
Working from technical drawings and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Drilling, tapping and reaming components to required specifications
Installation of solid and pop rivets
Fitting rivet nuts and helicoils
Carrying out quality checks throughou...
