MEAT CLERK JOB DESCRIPTION Summary The Meat Clerk will provide assistance to customers by providing excellent customer service and assisting customers with their shopping needs in the Meat Department. Will receive and unpack meat, cleans and sanitizes all equipment and working surfaces, following all provided and established guidelines within the Meat Department. Responsibilities: Provides assistance to customers by answering questions regarding meats and poultry. Makes recommendations on food products when necessary Weighs, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat and poultry, including grinds. Assists the meat cutter in packaging freshly cut meats and poultry. May grind hamburger meat Inspects and stores meat upon delivery. Ensures that all delivered meat meets or exceeds company quality standards Ensures the meat cases are fully stocked. Rotates meats and poultry, according to expiration dates.
