Job Description
The Materials Data Systems Engineer provides technical stewardship of the MAPTIS system in support of the engineering community’s access to and use of materials data. Responsibilities include:
+ Monitoring system performance, data integrity, and technical health of the MAPTIS platform in support of engineering users
+ Partnering with engineering staff to document and preserve institutional knowledge related to data organization, historical context, and retrieval methods, in direct support of the department’s knowledge preservation objectives
+ Contributing subject matter expertise to the department’s digital transformation initiative, including requirements definition for improved data discoverability and search capability
+ Assist in defining technical requirements for API/integration interfaces between MAPTIS and other engineering data sources as integration priorities are identified
