Geriatrics Department Licensed Practical Nurse
Maimonides is currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to join our Geriatrics Department. Our LPNs will coordinate day-to-day clinical activities, provide direct patient care in collaboration with physicians during visits, and manage patient flow throughout each visit.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for medical examination; take vitals, perform EKGs, order medical supplies for the home program, and the geriatric patient clinic.
- Assist with procedures and collect specimens (e.g. finger puncture, phlebotomy, take urine samples, obtain and record vital signs, urine dipstick, CLIA, EKG, etc.) from patients and perform procedures.
- Prepare and administer injections and vaccinations.
- Fill out lab forms and requests for lab tests, label blood tubes and specimen collection containers, and arrange for specimens to be picked up.
