Library Assistant

Job Goal

Assist library patrons in meeting their information needs. Support faculty and staff with multimedia needs to provide an excellent educational experience for the students. Help maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning and provide a welcoming space for library patrons. Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for all aspects of public service desk coverage and collection circulation using online systems.
Keep patron information confidential.
Work as team member to improve patron services and resolve reported problems.
Assess overdue/lost material fines and fees according to NICC policy.
Assist library patrons in locating material and information from various sources.
Assist users with computers, databases, & photocopiers.
Process requests for lending and borrowing initiated by NICC patrons or requested from other libraries (Interlibrary Lending).
Collect statistics on use of library material and provide reports as requested.
