Job Description
An IT Support professional (also called IT Support Specialist or IT Helpdesk Technician) is responsible for maintaining an organization's computer systems, networks, and technical infrastructure. Their main goal is to ensure that employees can use technology efficiently and without interruption.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to staff (in person, phone, email, or remote)
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, and other hardware
- Set up and manage software applications
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
- Reset passwords and manage user accounts
- Maintain IT documentation and support tickets
- Perform system updates and backups
- Ensure cybersecurity practices are followed
- Support email systems and cloud services
