Responsibilities

• Ensure National Patient Safety Agency Cleaning (NPSA) Specifications and Publicly Available Specification (PAS) are adhered to by implementing ward cleaning schedules.
• Carry out spot cleaning (eg floors, toilets) as required, dealing with spillages swiftly and efficiently, using the appropriate equipment and cleaning products for each specific task.
• Use and store chemicals correctly in accordance with Care of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) procedures.
• Work efficiently to minimise disruption within the work area.
• Serve beverages direct to patients and prepare and serve meals, including collecting completed menu cards.
