Horticulturist

Job description

. Perform landscaping work

. Inspect and monitor the conditions of the landscape plantings to assess horticultural or environmental problems and take appropriate remedial action

. Prepare reports and cost estimates

. Advise and supervise grounds personnel (supervisors, local gardeners and foreign labourers) in erosion control, fertilisation, pruning, irrigation and application of pesticides to infested plants

. Identify pest and diseases, evaluate soil condition and take appropriate remedial action

. Ensure adequate supply of materials and equipment is available for assigned projects

. Ensure the operational safety and readiness of equipment

. May station at project sites

. Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
