Highways Inspector

Job Summary

The role involves inspecting the public highway as required following reports of possible defects and at agreed frequencies, to maintain the highway in a safe and usable condition to meet the council’s statutory obligations, coordinating routine, cyclical and adhoc inspections.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, collate, report and record information; assess condition of highway network.
• Recommend remedial works and organise repairs and works.
• Check compliance with technical standards.
• Liaise with the Highways Helpdesk, Members, customers and other stakeholders.
• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of the service to meet assigned Corporate, Directorate, Group and Unit objectives.
