Job Purpose
The Geotechnical Engineer will provide expert geotechnical support for the design, safe operation, and optimisation of open-pit mining activities within the Technical Services Department. This role carries legal accountability under Regulation 14.1(8) of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), ensuring proactive management of rock engineering risks.
Minimum Requirements
- BSc/BEng/BTech in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Geology.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in open-pit mining, including at least 4 years as a Rock Engineer and Strata Control Officer.
- COM Certificate in Rock Mechanics (Metalliferous Mines).
- Legal appointment holder under MHSA 14.1(8).
